Directions:

I always like to tell the story to my students about Gracie Allen and George Burns. First, I have to explain who these people are because most young people are unfamiliar with these classic comedians.

I relate the story of Gracie observing her daughter working her geometry homework. The daughter sighs in exasperation, “Learning geometry is like learning a new language!” Gracie says, “Oh, talk geometry to me!” So the daughter replies, “Pi are square” (πr2). To which Gracie replies, “Oh that is silly, everyone knows pies are round!”
