Say: Listen to this excerpt from an article in the April 28-29, 2007 Wall Street Journal, titled “Magic Wand: How Hackers Make Use of Their Wii-motes.”

After allowing some general discussion following this read aloud, I provide the following prompt: Say: Obviously, Wii makes use of a technology that could have a variety of applications. Devise a new application for the Wii-mote, and write a blog entry or letter in which you explain your application to your friends.

After writing time is over, have students choose the strongest or most interesting point from their response. Allow them to share.
