True educational reform must be child centered, teacher centered and family centered. Montessori education focuses on children’s individuality and develops independent, confident students with the tools and motivation to chart their path in life. Implementing a public school Montessori program requires the ability to combine and protect the major tenets of Montessori while adhering to state and district initiatives and mandates. The transformational nature of Montessori is beneficial to all children regardless of their setting and fosters the development of teachers as facilitators of learning. Montessori allows all stakeholders to be involved in educating our future, the children. It is an education reform that works and sustains itself on its own merits—an education for life.
