International school students are often referred to as global nomads (Pollock & Van Reken, 2001) or third culture kids (Useem, 1999) who move effortlessly from one country to another. According to Held (2002)

He continues, drawing heavily on earlier work by Miller (1992), Liebes and Katz (1993), and Thompson (1995), to propose that there is no simple global pool of memories, no common global way of thinking, and no universal history in which people can unite.

Focusing on the vulnerability of people and their attachments to a global culture, this study highlights aspects of international school students’ sense of belonging, in particular, belonging to a global or a national identity.
