This study examines the impact of the Fifth Industrial Revolution (5IR) on the innovation ecosystem within the hospitality industry in Dubai, UAE, with regard to technological trends as a mediation. Hence, the study employs quantitative research methodology to establish facts from 207 respondents through a convenience sampling technique. SmartPLS software was used to analyse the validity of the proposed model and to perform hypothesis testing regarding the integration of technologies enabled by 5IR into the innovation processes within the sector. The study contributes to the understanding of the processes and dynamics of innovation systems and systems of innovation by illustrating the uses of new technologies in the hospitality industry, including artificial intelligence (AI), automation and smart systems and the role of technological trends in bringing about the organisational change, productivity and competitive advantage. This research adds knowledge to the theory on how the emerging 5IR is impacting the innovation management efforts in a dynamic industry.
