This research looks at the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) as a factor that can improve business intelligence (BI), using 5IR technology integration as the mediating variable. It is about the application of Fifth Industrial Revolution (5IR) technologies to New York’s commercial bank managers. Thus, the ideal target market of the research comprises bank managers across different commercial banks in New York. An explanatory method research approach is used, and the quantitative data is collected through a structured questionnaire administered to 97 CX Managers, IT Managers, and Operations Managers in 73 banks in New York. These managers have been chosen because of the activities that are most fundamental to the adoption of the technology and the institution’s operations. To test the hypothesised relationships between AI and the 5IR dimensions, namely, human–AI collaboration, sustainability, advanced manufacturing, and BI, data is analysed using structural equation modelling (SEM). The analysis shows that AI has a direct impact on BI, and 5IR technology significantly mediates this relationship by making processes ethical, human-oriented, and adaptive. Combined, each has efficacy in enhancing operational excellence and specific strategic initiatives. This research emphasises that the deployment of AI and 5IR technologies is crucial in the banking sector to address the issue of sustainability. Measures include stressing ethical values and ensuring that managerial staff properly understand AI. Besides, future research should analyse how these frameworks can be used within other specific industries.
