This study aims to analyze the impact of business intelligence (BI) on environmentally sustainable development goals (ESDG) in the cement industry sector which present significant environmental contamination.
The approach used was positivism and the hypothetico-deductive as a research posture. A questionnaire was distributed to 246 employees. The data were analyzed using AMOS 26 software and structural equation modeling (SEM).
There is a significant and positive impact of BI on responsible production and consumption. There is a significant and positive impact of BI on climate change. There is a significant and positive impact of BI on sustainable cities and communities. There is a significant and positive impact of BI on the green economy. There is a significant and positive impact of BI on environmental risks.
This research provides guidance for practitioners and policy makers who aim to improve environmentally sustainable development using BI. For social implications, our research focus on fostering the use of business intelligence to tackle environmental challenges and help reader and society to adopt eco-friendly practices.
The research fills the literature gap concerning research on sustainable development by focusing on the environmental dimension and using BI. This will enlarge the landscape of the literature in this field.
