This chapter discusses a reflection of fears about whether or not to pursue a career in higher education. The subsections glean insights into the theory that aligns my scholarly activities and the role networking, mentoring and professional development play within higher education success. Each of these three can highly contribute to shaping one’s career path. As such, this chapter provides insight into the value of and the benefits that networking and professional development had on my career path and future aspirations. The chapter ends with five salient points for faculty success.
