Cultural heritage tourism plays an important role in the global tourism industry, contributing to local and international economies while preserving historical and cultural sites. However, the sector faces many sustainability challenges such as overtourism, environmental degradation, and resource scarcity, which threaten the integrity of heritage sites. This chapter explores the role of digital technologies such as VR, AR, and big data analytics, along with global cooperation, in promoting economic sustainability in cultural heritage tourism. It explores the role of international organizations such as UNESCO and UNWTO and the importance of public–private partnerships (PPPs) in providing technical and financial support for heritage conservation. In addition, the chapter highlights the key role of community participation in ensuring that cultural heritage is protected while benefiting the local economy. Through case studies of the Dazu Rock Carvings in China, the ancient city of Pompeii in Italy, and the Taj Mahal heritage site in India, the chapter demonstrates how the integration of digital technology and international cooperation can safeguard heritage sites and enhance the visitor experience, contributing to economic sustainability. The chapter concludes with policy recommendations that emphasize the need for digital innovation, global collaboration, and community empowerment to ensure long-term economic sustainability in cultural heritage tourism.
