The purpose of this study is to discover the role of emotional intelligence (EI) in enhancing the learning and development in the educational settings. Explicitly, it observes how fostering EI among the students and educators can positively affect the academic performance, social relationships, and overall well-being. The study aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the importance of EI as a core constituent of education. The methodology used is a systematic literature review (SLR), analysing the peer-reviewed articles, books, and research studies published in the last one decade. The selected literature covers the various aspects of EI in education, including its influence on the student engagement, teacher effectiveness, and the management of the classroom. Therefore, the key databases such as Scopus, ERIC, and Google Scholar were searched for the relevant studies. Findings indicate that the EI meaningfully contributes to the improved academic outcomes, better student engagement, and improved classroom dynamics. Educators with high EI are more efficient in managing the classrooms, supporting students’ emotional needs, and encouraging a positive learning environment. Furthermore, students with established EI skills show stronger interpersonal relationships and resilience. The implications of this study recommend that the integrating EI training into the educational curriculum can improve both cognitive and emotional development. Policymakers and educators should prioritise EI in the teacher training programmes and student development strategies for long-term educational success.
