Sustainability is meeting the present needs without compromising the availability of resources for the future generations. What can be more critical in sustainability than the mental well-being of the current generation and promoting holistic well-being for the future? The concept has a spiritual dimension, as it involves balancing the interests of both present and future generations. An individual with sound mental health and holistic happiness will always support sustainable practices. The role of holistic wellness is often underrated and less discussed. This chapter focuses on the importance of mental health in higher education and the role of the higher education institution (HEI) in promoting well-being. Mental health is a concern for all, children, adults, students, employees, and every individual. The research focuses on the mental health of students in HEIs, as they are groomed as future leaders. The Warwick–Edinburgh Mental Well-being Scale (WEMWBS) was used in the study to measure mental well-being. Qualitative research was conducted with a group of 230 postgraduate students to investigate the impact of mental health and how institute activities, forums, social events, and interactions contribute to mental well-being. This study draws attention to the role and importance of mental health in higher education and suggests implementation and integration strategies of mental well-being in higher education. This chapter suggests models that can be implemented in higher education by integrating the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual dimensions of health. Immersive wellness activities for students encourage experiential and transformative activities.
