7: Love, Care, and Inclusion: Entrepreneurship Education and Students With Disabilities

In this chapter on Edmund Short’s (2019) book A Coherent Curriculum for Every Student: Curriculum Proposals for Possible Adoption, the author explores the book’s central aim of presenting diverse curriculum models that address the needs of every student. Using Short’s framework of curriculum proposals, such as academic-focused, democratic-focused, and global-focused models, the author explores how these approaches can be adapted for students with disabilities to ensure equitable access to meaningful learning experiences in entrepreneurship education. In today’s climate of growing calls for equity, inclusivity, and responsiveness in entrepreneurship education, Short’s work is particularly relevant. It encourages a thoughtful reexamination of curricular assumptions and provides a flexible foundation for constructing more inclusive, coherent, and context sensitive educational experiences for all learners.
