Social media platforms have become pivotal in advancing sustainable development goals (SDGs), offering innovative avenues for engagement and awareness. This study explores Instagram’s role in promoting SDGs within the Bahraini context, emphasizing its capacity to connect individuals, organizations, and communities. With its visual storytelling and interactive features, Instagram transforms abstract development concepts into compelling narratives, inspiring collective action and fostering public understanding. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, this research combines surveys, content analysis, and interviews with Bahraini stakeholders, including activists, organizations, and digital creators. The findings reveal Instagram’s significant contributions to environmental campaigns, educational initiatives, and social equity movements, showcasing its power to mobilize communities and amplify local efforts. Despite these successes, challenges such as the digital divide and the risk of misinformation persist, requiring strategic interventions to maximize Instagram’s positive impact. This study highlights the potential of leveraging social media for sustainable change, positioning Instagram as a bridge between awareness and action. By aligning its vast reach with Bahrain’s developmental priorities, Instagram emerges as a tool for fostering a shared sense of responsibility and advancing the SDGs, paving the way for a more sustainable and inclusive future.
