In this chapter, we focus on resourcing to solve the shared problems identified through previous phases, where resourcing includes all actions taken to build on strengths and to address identified needs. The most common form of resourcing in our applications of the LSM has been the provision of teacher and leader PLD opportunities designed to build on identified strengths and to address identified gaps in instruction and leadership. The goal in this case is to positively impact on prioritised and agreed problems of student learning through improvements in teaching and school practice. But resourcing is not limited to PLD and could also include provision of specialist staff, the development of new infrastructure (such as IT infrastructure) and the development of texts or other learning resources. The content and provision of resources in a particular application are always bespoke as they are designed and tailored to the particular profile of strengths and needs developed in Phase 1: Profiling.
