We would rather elaborate it to say that BI is a terminology that represents a collection of processes, tools and technologies which are helpful in achieving more profit by considerably improving the productivity, sales and service of a firm. It’s about using the data assets to make better business decisions. With the help of BI methods, data can be organised, analysed in a better way and then converted into useful knowledge of information needed to initiate a profitable business action. BI therefore is about turning raw, collected data into intelligent information by analysing and re-arranging the data according to the relationships between the data items by knowing what data to collect and manage and in what context.
