As the literature review comprising the last chapter showed, very little work has been undertaken on how people with learning disabilities interact with a mobile form of technology, the difficulties they may have and how these may be obviated. Indeed, almost no work has been undertaken to examine the methods by which people input commands and access the apps and functions of mobile devices. The writer, with his colleague Sidarth Shekhar (to whom much thanks!), therefore undertook a study: ‘Find My Tube!’ (Study Eight in this volume) in which an app was developed which required users to practice all of these actions. In addition, participants were required to recognise icons and links and read and enter text (see also Williams & Shekhar, 2019).
