Dedrick, Robert F., PhD, is professor and coordinator of the educational measurement and research program at the University of South Florida (USF). He specializes in the development and validation of psychological and educational assessments and teaches courses in research design, measurement, and statistics. He has a strong interest in ethical considerations in human subjects’ research and has served as a member of the USF’s Social and Behavioral Institutional Review Board (IRB) since 2006.
Eilam, Billie is professor emerita in the faculty of education in the University of Haifa, Israel. Her research focuses on the application of learning, instruction and curricular theories in authentic learning environments, and the effect of contextual and cultural factors on learning. Her studies emphasize learning and teaching with visual representations and the use of cognitive skills. She authored the book: The Dual Function of Visual Literacy in the Teaching Profession: Implications for Teacher Education (2012, Cambridge University Press) and co-edited the book: Science teachers’ use of visual representations (2014, Springer). Eilam publishes her work in international peer-reviewed journals and conferences. Lately, she studies the cognitive aspects of learning processes in informal learning spaces, such as museums, as related to the context such as the exhibition structure and organization and the environment. She was the head of the Department of Teaching and Teacher Education in the Faculty of Education.
