Imagine that you are presented with “a lot of freedom” to teach a course, enriched from its original iterations, based on your areas of professional expertise. In this course, there is a need to address education-related theory as most undergraduate, teacher preparation programs in the college will build from the foundation you provide in your course. Every semester, this course typically has strong enrollment, with upwards of at least 40 students per course section. The course is grounded in the beliefs, as stated in the college’s conceptual framework, that professional preparation for teachers should include the development of broad-based theoretical and research-based knowledge that includes content, combined with pedagogical and professional knowledge.
