Data on academic integrity and misconduct are critical to the evaluation process as they help programme administrators to determine what aspects of the programme are effective and the changes that are required for greater efficiency. In some institutions, data on academic integrity are made publicly available and this can easily be found online. Examples of universities from the United States with data readily available online include Marquette University, Baruch College and the University of Rochester which presents a report which shows the 4-year trends. Canadian universities with academic misconduct statistics readily available through a Google search include the University of Toronto which had a detailed listing of cases. This show the faculties in which students were registered. The data also show the number of repeat offenders, penalties assigned, types of offences, time between reporting and case resolutions (University of Toronto, 2021). These data are presented for five academic years allowing for comparison and a study of trends.
