Since its inception in the early 20th century, the student affairs profession has continuously evolved in response to the dynamic nature of higher education. It has also adapted to the challenges of an increasingly interconnected world characterized by deliberate international student recruitment, migration, and displacement (Roberts et al., 2022). Globally, higher education institutions have recognized the pivotal role of student affairs in facilitating the integration of in-class and out-of-class learning to promote student development and enhance educational outcomes. The rapidly changing landscape of student demographics and societal conditions necessitates that student affairs professionals remain flexible and responsive to these shifts. They must be prepared to adapt to evolving circumstances to effectively serve both domestic and international students, all while possessing a keen awareness of the historical context, prevailing trends, and the unique needs of the student population.
