The study examines how organisational learning, network configuration and organisational repurposing mediate the relationship between supply chain plasticity and resilience in Ghana's manufacturing industry.
The study applies the dynamic capability theory to test the model quantitatively. Out of the 473 questionnaires distributed, 407 valid responses were analysed using partial least squares structural equation modelling.
The result indicated an insignificant relationship between supply chain plasticity and resilience. On the other hand, the results showed that organisational learning, network configuration and organisational repurposing fully mediate the relationship between supply chain plasticity and resilience in Ghana's manufacturing industry. Lastly, the results indicate a positive serial mediation effect between the variables.
To the best of our knowledge, this study is the first within the Ghanaian manufacturing sector to examine the relationship between supply chain plasticity and resilience, emphasising the mediating roles of organisational learning, network reconfiguration and operational repurposing. It uniquely highlights the complementary nature of these mediators, recognising that they function collectively rather than independently in enhancing resilience.
