Purpose

This paper aims to present the dispersion relationship of microwave radiation generated by the interaction between ion beams and plasmas, as well as the effects of various physical quantities on disturbance density and radiation intensity. Provides the feasibility of ion beam excitation of plasma to generate microwave radiation through research results.

Design/methodology/approach

This paper derives the dispersion relationship of microwave radiation generated by ion beam excited plasma through field matching method. In COMSOL software, the influence of various physical quantities on plasma disturbance density and radiation electric field intensity was analyzed through particle simulation.

Findings

This paper derives the dispersion relation expression of microwave radiation generated by the interaction between ion beam and plasma, and establishes a simulation model for the interaction between ion beam and plasma. The results indicate that increasing the ion beam velocity, ion beam density, magnetic field strength and plasma density can all increase the frequency and radiation intensity of microwave radiation.

Originality/value

This paper provides experimental evidence for the generation of microwave radiation through the interaction between ion beams and plasmas.
