Fifty‐four kilometres north‐northwest of the city of Luxembourg, the small town of Wiltz enjoys a peaceful and picturesque setting at the heart of the Luxembourg Ardennes. Now a holiday centre amidst a verdant and unspoilt natural landscape, Wiltz is by no means devoid of commercial life. The town was, in fact, a commercial centre since the Middle Ages, due largely to its situation on the route linking Luxembourg city to Bastogne and the Belgian Ardennes.
