Etec Systems announces printed circuit board process capability in Tucson, Arizona

Etec Systems, Inc., has announced the completion of an advanced printed circuit board process laboratory at its Tucson-based Interconnect Products Group.

The laboratory will enable the company to characterize the laser direct imaging process capabilities and simulate customers' process environments. "This is important to our ability to demonstrate the full capabilities of the DigiRite™ 2000 laser direct imaging system," stated Jeff Rittichier, director of sales and marketing,Interconnect Products Group. "With the capability to process cores and outerlayers in-house, we can quickly show visiting customers the quality of the images produced by the machine as well as assist in the development of advanced resist processes to optimize our systems."

The laboratory in Tucson includes complete surface cleaning, micro-etch and lamination capability. The laboratory is also capable of processing sub-2 mil features and contains state-of-the-art metrology equipment from Optek. The equipment is housed in Etec's existing facility at 6363 Country Club Road, in Tucson, Arizona.
