Thinnest treated rolled copper foils down to 0.01 mm
Keywords: Copper, Foil
The German company Schlenk Metallfolien GmbH & Co. KG provides thinnest rolled copper foils with copper- or copper-zinc-treatment, either on one or on both sides, in Grades 5, 6, 7 and 8, acc. to IPC-4562 (formerly IPC-MF-150F)(see Plate 3). Treated foils are available in a thickness range from 0.01mm (10 microns) to 0.4mm (400 microns) and in widths ranging from 2mm (0.07900) to 650mm (25.600).

Copper treatment makes the foils also suitable for lamination with polyamides, adhesiveless laminates and for laminates requiring extra-high bond strengths.
No additional carrier is necessary, which saves environmentally resources, time and material in customers processes. In comparison to the customary 0.017mm(1/2 oz.) thickness, it is possible to reduce the weight of copper in base materials by 40 per cent using a 10 micron thick copper foil instead. This means an enormous reduction in production costs by reducing the amount of pre-material being used.
