This research delves into the intricate dynamics among digital intensity, transformation management intensity, and their influence on the sustainable job performance of employees in the Malaysian manufacturing sector.
Data were gathered from 188 women leaders in managerial roles across private organizations in the Malaysian manufacturing industry, and analysis was conducted using SPSS 28.0 and SmartPLS 4.
Results indicate a positive relationship between digital intensity and emotional intelligence, emphasizing leaders' adaptability in managing change effectively. Unexpectedly, no significant direct relationships were found between digital intensity, transformation management intensity, and sustainable job performance. However, emotional intelligence was identified as a positive mediator, highlighting its crucial role in sustaining high performance during digital transformations.
The study recommends organizations invest in cultivating emotional intelligence, especially among women leaders, offering targeted leadership development programs for a holistic approach to digital-era leadership skills. The importance of transformation management intensity is emphasized for fostering adaptive workplace cultures aligned with digital objectives.
