Good practices and current trends in microfinance operations were discussed at the first Consultative Group to Assist the Poorest (CGAP) training courses on microfinance, which took place in Geneva in April. The CGAP – a microfinance programme with the International Labour Organization (ILO) as a funding member – is a multi-agency effort to reduce poverty by increasing access to financial services for very poor households, through financially sustainable institutions.
