Springboard celebrates tenth anniversary

Keywords: Women, Employee rights, Employee development

A quiet revolution has been going on in the workplace, where many thousands of women have discovered that they have a lot more to offer their employers and gained the confidence to say so, thanks to the Springboard women's development network, now celebrating its tenth anniversary.

The network of trainers deliver the Springboard Women's Development Programme, which helps women to become the kind of employees everyone is claiming to want in the twenty-first century, taking responsibility for themselves and their goals.

The birthday was marked by a three-day conference at the Cable & Wireless College near Coventry, where trainers from nine countries gathered to set the agenda for women's development for the next century.

The Springboard Programme was launched in 1989, by Liz Willis and Jenny Daisley and is delivered by a network of licensed trainers, the first of whom were licensed in 1990. To date, 130,000 women worldwide have benefited from Springboard through a network of over 400 licensed trainers.

Springboard has recently launched a programme for undergraduate women in partnership with Cambridge University and designed and launched the "brother"course, Navigator Men's Development Programme.
