The rapid emergence of Fintech has dramatically changed the financial services sector, and therefore, it has become a necessity to study its unique adoption dynamics in Islamic banking environments. The current research tries to examine drivers and implications of Fintech adoption by the Islamic banking community in Jordan with particular focus on influential constructs like perceived trust, performance expectancy, Islamic work ethics (IWE) and their impact on Islamic Fintech adoption behavioral intention.
The quantitative research method was employed in the research, with data analysis and hypothesis testing performed employing Smart PLS 4.0. Decision-makers and managers of various departments of three Islamic banks of Jordan were the respondents of the research through an online survey and provided 231 valid responses.
The test indicated significant relationships between the constructs. Perceived trust and performance expectancy were positively related to the behavioral intention to use Islamic Fintech. Furthermore, IWE moderated the relationship between these constructs and behavioral intention, hence strengthening these relationships.
This study contributes to existing literature by putting forward empirical findings on the role of IWE in Fintech adoption in the banking sector. The study offers beneficial implications for banks seeking to embrace Fintech innovation while ensuring adherence to Islamic values.
