Examiners Reports — June 1984 Business Communications — Certificate Part 1. The comments made in the previous report still hold good: the gap between the best and poorest scripts is very wide indeed. Too many candidates — many of them based in London — should not have attempted this examination. It is a waste of time and money for those with only a basic knowledge of English to enter for a professional examination, and the proportion who fail because of their totally inadequate command of English must give rise for concern.
