Keywords BT, Career development,Communications, Young people

The Prince's Trust Volunteers and BT have launched a new national scheme which aims to provide communications training for up to 51,000 young people over the next three years.

Funded by a contribution of £500,000 from BT's community-partnership programme, young people will be offered places on a 26-week personal-development scheme as part of the Government's new deal.

The young people will have work in the community, and training in communication skills from BT's new Talkworks programme. The scheme should help the young people to build confidence, learn interview skills and generally become better equipped for the world of work.
