A new initiative to attract more overseas students to Britain will be launched by the British Council in April. Its Education Promotion Service will operate on behalf of British further and higher education colleges, initially in Hong Kong, Malaysia and Jordan. It will complement the Education Counselling Service which already markets Britain's universities and polytechnics in Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore; this service is being expanded to Japan, Korea and Brunei this year.
