The addition of two new modules to the Institute of Personnel and Development (IPD) flexible-learning scheme now gives students the chance to specialize in training and development.
The modules, "Managing the learning process" and "Managing training operations", are intended to help students to develop more effective training and development strategies in their organizations. They explore training and development issues in detail and are aimed at practitioners with particular responsibilities in those areas.
The IPD flexible-learning programme combines an open-learning approach with guidance and support from learner-support centres. It is intended to appeal to people who cannot regularly attend college.
Flexible-learning students receive study materials, group tutorials, skill workshops, tutor telephone support and the use of learner-support facilities.
Meanwhile, knowledge management, strategic management and creative management are among the 15 new courses launched by the Institute of Personnel and Development.
Almost 9,000 delegates attended IPD courses last year. They are designed to provide up-to-date thinking and practical skills for personnel and training specialists and for managers who want to get the best from their employees.
