Bosnia after elections.

Significance

Forming governments at various levels in Bosnia-Hercegovina (BiH) after elections is being delayed by Bosniak (Muslim) rejection of changes to the election law by the Central Election Commission (CEC).

Impacts

Delays in forming the Federation parliament beyond end-2018 would block payment of bills, wages, pensions and social contributions.

Bosnia’s politicians are failing to address such everyday issues as smog in Sarajevo reaching hazardous levels.

NATO has invited BiH to activate its membership action plan but Dodik will back the RS official policy of neutrality.

Dodik's police reform in RS will do nothing to address rule-of-law concerns arising from the death in March of David Dragicevic.
