Significance
Supply chain disruptions add to those created by China's ongoing COVID-19 lockdowns. Strategic tensions with the West are a price Beijing accepts for defending its own core interests, but association with Russian aggression increases these tensions without any compensatory benefit. China wants the conflict to end quickly with a negotiated solution.
Impacts
China is unlikely to provide arms to Russia, but may provide some materials and components.
China will not care about the details of any peace agreement, as long as Russia is not humiliated.
China will be very reticent to help Moscow circumvent financial sanctions.
