Subject
Prospects for Latin America in the fourth quarter.
Significance
Slowing demand in China and declining commodities prices point to weak growth expectations for a longer period than initially envisaged. This is particularly, although not exclusively, the case in Brazil, where the economic and political crisis is deepening. General elections in Argentina and National Assembly elections in Venezuela will focus political attention in the quarter, with the latter likely to prove tumultuous.
