Subject
Prospects for global gas and coal markets in 2016.
Significance
The global gas market is recovering slowly; with low prices likely to persist, gas demand growth could accelerate. Falling imports by the two key markets of India and China, which account for 66% of total consumption and with Japan 51% of globally traded coal, could portend major restructuring of the global coal market.
