Significance
Latest figures suggest India is once again one of the world's fastest-growing large economies, following a slowdown late last year. However, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will need to rebound from recent poll setbacks, with up to four state elections before end-2018 and the general election due next year.
