Significance
Vizcarra has recently appointed a new prime minister and reshuffled his cabinet. He remains unusually popular, having gained traction with his plans to clamp down on what appears to be systemic corruption in government. In other areas, he has so far sought to straddle ideological divides. He is coming under pressure from business groups to define his economic policies more clearly.
