Significance
New Mining Minister Miguel Inchaustegui is committed to promoting a modus vivendi between mining companies and the communities that have so frequently opposed mining development on environmental and social grounds. Almost immediately, he was called to resolve a long-standing conflict in Cuzco. The new cabinet will help Vizcarra see out his last year in office.
