Prospects 2021: Russian economy
Significance
By June 2021 the Russian economy had largely recovered to the pre-pandemic level of January 2020, registering one of the fastest rebounds among major economies. Scope for further growth is subject to multiple downside risks, including a worsening COVID-19 situation and rising inflation as domestic demand grows quicker than productive capacity.
