Significance
Revelations of hacking into the phones of civic activists, journalists and politicians have caused a major media storm in Hungary, without any clear political ramifications. Hungary’s Fidesz-led government is alone in the EU in being identified, by a former employee of the Pegasus developer, as a client of the firm.
