Significance
The pandemic was also a mobilising factor for these groups, which consider COVID-19 policies part of a ‘globalist’ agenda. Several groups and parties have ties with far-right organisations in Europe, particularly Spanish Vox, which has recently announced an international campaign within the ‘Iberosphere’.
Impacts
Far-right organisations’ messaging will contribute to further polarisation within Latin American society and politics.

As elsewhere, groups may resort to the spread of misinformation and fake news as part of their activism against progressive policies.
