Significance
Emerging market and developing economies (EMDEs) have been confronted with successive challenges, most importantly having to cope with the pandemic and its economic consequences including global supply chain disruptions amid volatile market conditions. The fallout from the war in Ukraine is adding to those problems, threatening the prospects of EMDEs not only in the foreseeable future but in the longer run.
