Prospects for Ukraine to end-2022.
Significance
Full-scale war makes this the most catastrophic year for Ukraine since it became independent, and the most challenging for Europe, too. Yet Ukraine's survival as a sovereign state is no longer in doubt, as it appeared to be at the outset of war. Its future, in terms of territorial control and economic well-being, is still far from clear and will be determined almost entirely by the course of the conflict.
