Significance

As Central America enters the second half of 2022, cases of COVID-19 appear to be on the rise again. Although widespread vaccination should prevent the need for renewed restrictions on movement, the effects of past socioeconomic disruption endure and look set to be compounded by the impacts of Russia’s war against Ukraine.
