Prospects for Mexico to end-2022.
Significance
President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (AMLO), now more than halfway through his presidency, remains popular but faces major economic challenges and stubbornly high levels of insecurity. So far he has little to show for his flagship infrastructure projects; the recently opened Felipe Angeles airport has prompted as much criticism as praise. Government frustration with the difficulty of advancing change could generate increased hostility towards the private sector, compounding lacklustre growth.
