Significance
The elected parliament will then choose the next prime minister. Prime Minister Moeketsi Majoro is not standing for re-election, nor are former Prime Ministers and political heavyweights Pakalitha Mosisili and Tom Thabane. This brings added uncertainty to both the elections and the resulting negotiations for the ensuing governing coalition.
