Prospects for South-east Asia in 2023.
Significance
Tensions on the global stage and the worsening conflict in Myanmar continue to preoccupy and divide ASEAN. Meanwhile, the ongoing fallout from the war in Ukraine and COVID-19 lockdowns in China have prevented South-east Asian economies from recovering fully from the impact of the pandemic. A handful of countries in the region are gearing up for elections in 2023.
