Significance
Exiled Kurdish parties are demanding greater autonomy for Kurds in Iran. However, Tehran accuses them of wanting separatism and blames them for fomenting the Mahsa Amini protests in late 2022.
Impacts
The ending of the protests will reduce potential for exiled Iranian opposition groups to garner international diplomatic and media support.
Iranian Kurds inside Iran will face more arrests and prosecutions as their political space is further curtailed.
Exiled Iranian Kurdish parties are unlikely to perform any significant cross-border activity in Iran, as this would upset their KRI hosts.
